Former All-Black Collins Killed in Car Crash


Former New Zealand All Black Jerry Collins and his wife Alana have been killed in a car crash in France.

Collins and his families car was in a collision with a bus in the early hours if Friday morning which killed the couple and left their young daughter in a critical condition.

With 48 international caps to his name, the former Osprey’s player had been playing in France for club side Narbonne.

He captained the All Blacks on three occasions and featured in the 2003 and 2007 Rugby World Cups but will also be remembered for his bleach blonde hair.

Tweets have been coming on for Collins from members of the rugby fraternity with Ben Cohen tweeting”So so sad. Can’t believe that Jerry Collins and partner Alana died in car crash in France – RIP.”

Former England and Leicester Tigers captain Lewis Moody tweeted   

“@LewisMoody7: #RIP Jerry Collins a beast on the field but a true gent off it. My thoughts and prayers go out to his baby daughter”
