Former Borussia Dortmund coach Jurgan Klopp has announced he will take a rest from football before returning to the game.
The news that Klopp will not return to the game straight away after leaving Dortmund will be a blow to many of Europe’s top clubs, including Liverpool, Arsenal and Manchester City.
Liverpool fans were beginning to warm to the idea of the German taking charge at Anfield to replace the under pressure Brendan Rodgers, who has come under scrutiny following a poor season.
Despite a disastrous start to the season which saw Dortmund struggling at the bottom of the table, the club recovered to finish in 7th and secure a place in the Europa League, keeping Klopp’s reputation intact. Aware that he was leaving the club in the summer, the German has been heavily linked with a managers role in England.
Liverpool look likely to stick with Rodgers despite him beginning to lose the Liverpool fans faith, though if Carlo Ancelotti can be persuaded to return to management, Rodgers could yet find himself on the managerial scrap heap.
