Predictions for Group A:
Well, my picks from Group A to go through are going to be Serbia and Germany. Both displayed the qualities that they have last night and in the final two games, they both should both find the points required to qualify. Denmark are obviously now top of the group after match day one. However I cannot see them knocking over Germany but they could however prove a problem for Serbia. But with the quality in Serbia’s squad they should qualify to the knockout stages without to many problems. Duricic proved last night what an exceptional talent he is and he could inspire Serbia to European Championship.
Predictions for Group B:
England and Italy for me. The two strongest teams on paper however Sweden certainly shouldn’t be written off and neither should Portugal as tonight’s results have shown. Back in 2009 Sweden put in some brilliant performances, helped by Markus Berg scoring a stunning seven goals.
As always though, are England being over hyped again? On paper, they do have a great squad and one capable of rivaling the Italians and Germans for the European crown, but it’s whether or not they live up to their expectations or crumble under the pressure like the first team so often have. Seeing this England side crash out early on however is not expected with talents like Harry Kane, Danny Ings, James Ward-Prowse and Nathan Redmond. Italy have always produced quality young talents and even after tonights performance they will without doubt prove it again in this tournament.
Overall winners prediction:
I’m going to stick with the favourites Germany; as they do have the strongest team and although they may not have displayed their full ability against Serbia as the tournament progresses, they will come out of their shell and perform a to their full potential in my opinion. Players like Kevin Volland, Emre Can and Max Meyer will all step up for the Germans and lead them to European Championship glory.
