James Milner will join Liverpool in the summer once his contract has expired at the Etihad Stadium, subject to a medical.
The England Midfielder had been offered a huge contract to stay at Manchester City with it reportedly being over 150k a week.
However the former Aston Villa midfielder, who has won two Premier League titles and two FA Cups in his time at City, has decided to move on.
With Milner entering his peak years, a role in a rotating squad hasn’t appealed and he joins Brendan Rodgers side at a time when they need a quality replacement for the legendary Steven Gerrard, whilst keeping Milner in the north-east.
Whilst there will be no Champions League football at Anfield, it does represent a chance for the versitile Milner to play regular football and rebuild the fortunes if Liverpool.
