Laura Robson is still yet to find out if she has secured a wildcard for Wimbledon after the first set were revealed by the All-England club and did not include the former British women’s number one.
Robson has not played for over 17 months and recently pulled out of the Aegon Classic in Birmingham after initially receiving a wildcard. However she will need to wait for the second batch of wildcards to be handed out and will arguably need to prove her fitness at Eastbourne next week.
Fellow British Women’s players Johanna Konta and Naomi Broady have been given access through to the opening round at SW19 alongside her brother Liam Broady in the Men’s singles who has been joined by fellow Brit’s James Ward and Kyle Edmund.
British men’s top 200 player Bryden Klein will also have to wait to see if he will be given a wildcard but the organisers have given a wildcard to former champion Lleyton Hewitt who will be making his final appearance at Wimbledon as he is set to retire. Also given a wildcard is Frenchman Nicolas Mahut, who took part in the longest ever game at the championships in 2010 when he was beaten by American John Isner.
