Swedish skipper Andreas Jonsson helped his side reach the final in Denmark, finishing four points ahead of Poland.
The Swedes reach their first FIM Speedway World Cup Final since 2012, ahead of the favourites Poland, who lost captain Jaroslaw Hampel in heat four after a nasty crash.
The Swedish captain scored the least amount of points for his side, but was thrilled with the effort his team displayed.
He said: “I’m really sad about what happened to Jarek, especially as we’re team mates at Zielona Gora in Poland, and he is such a good friend of mine. I really feel sorry for his situation and for Poland as a team. I know how difficult it is to lose a rider so early in the competition. We definitely feel for Poland and Jarek.”
Despite the favourites Poland losing their captain early on, team manager Marek Cieslak was proud of the effort that his young riders produced, with Pawlicki and Janowski both scoring 13.
So Poland go into the race off in Denmark on Thursday, and will be joined by third placed Russia.
