The Sports Lowdown For All Your News and OpinionsAndy Murray has been seeded three for next week’s Wimbledon with Novak Djokovic and Serena Williams seeded number one in the men’s and women’s draws respectively.
2013 winner Murray goes into the Wimbledon fortnight in similar to form that brought him the title against Djokovic and will have high hopes ofpicking up a second title after coming close to adding the French Open crown to his list of majors in a 5 set defeat to the Serbian world number one.
Roger Federer is number two seed and the seven time Wimbledon champion will avoid facing Djokovic until at least the final should he make the Sunday. Former champion Rafael Nadal has dropped down the rankings and finds himself as number 10 seed.
On the women’s side of the draw, Williams will be looking for her sixth Wimbeldon crown with last year’s winner Petra Kvitova the number two seed. Former champion Maria Sharapova is the 4th seed, whilst Romanian Simona Halep is number three seed.
