Assuming that van Gaal can ward off any interest in the Spaniard over the course of the transfer window, De Gea will be the first name of his team sheet. His performances last season dragged United across the line to the top 4, and if his stellar form continues, there is no reason he will not be United’s next stalwart between the sticks. If he stays, he could be United’s next Schmeichel or Van Der Sar.
