There is always one English club that seems to get a horrid draw in the Champions League but thankfully, despite being drawn with German powerhouse Bayern Munich, the Gunners will not be that side and should progress through to the next stage.
Arsene Wenger’s side have now played Bayern Munich for the third time in four seasons in the group stages and will once again come up against Pep Guardiola’s side who will be one of the favourites come the end of the season to lift the Champions League crown.
Arsenal will go into the group stages with renewed vigor after avoiding what could have been a group of death and they will fancy there chances of qualifying for the second stage, though likely to fall behind Bayern. They have added the experience of former Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech to their side and there signs he has settled after a nervy opening game or two.
They have the class going forward to scare any of the teams with Alexis Sanchez the key man and the quality within the side. Olivier Giroud is an underrated striker and works hard for the side though they do need to rely on goals through the middle and from the wings to win games. If they could get a 20 goal a season striker in they would be a dark horse.
The midfield also has a touch of class about them with Santi Cazorla and Jack Wilshere when fit and if they can get Danny Welbeck back fit and adding goals they will be a hard team to break down and will always pose a threat of goals up top.
