Porto – 1st in Portuguese Liga

Porto will arguably be Chelsea’s biggest rivals in the group but they are not quite the force they were a few seasons ago. That being said they will be a tricky team to break down, especially in their own backyard and they still have quality right throughout there team.

This quality starts at the back in newly acquired goalkeeper, Iker Casillas, the former Real Madrid legend with over 150 caps for his country. Yes he is at the back end of his career but he is still a quality addition and will be one of Porto’s leading layers with tons of Champions League experience.

At the back they have the international experience of Maicon and Dutch defender Bruno Martins Indi and that alone will be a formidable partnership that needs breaking down. Up front they will have the talent of the on loan Barcelona forward Cristian Tello and could shock the Blues if they lack concentration.

Star Man and Player to Look out for – Dani Osvaldo

The former Southampton striker never got a fair crack in the Premier League and last season was sent out on loan to Juventus, Inter Milan and Boca Juniors where he got significant playing time at each club. The striker is a bit of a wildcard but knows where the goal is and with 14 caps for Italy he is no mug. A strong forward with an eye for the goal, Chelsea will need to keep an eye out for this guy.
