Central Midfielders
Bastian Schweinsteiger – Man United
A world cup winner and one of the best in his position makes Schweinsteiger an easy selection for this combined eleven. Can control the tempo of the match with his fantastic passing ability and he has no shortage of big game experience.
James Milner – Liverpool
His Liverpool career has started in an impressive manner. His energy in midfield is something that any top team requires but the former Man City man offers a great range of passing and has the tendency to pop up with an important goal. It’s for these reasons he takes the second central midfield place ahead of Morgan Schneiderlin.
Widemen
Juan Mata – Man United
His place could have been under threat had Phillippe Coutinho not been suspended, but with that being the case he walks into the side without much competition.
Memphis Depay – Man United
Another Straight forward selection in the favour of United. Depay offers raw pace and will always threaten to do something special. Liverpool youngster Jordan Ibe has shown promise since returning from an impressive loan spell at Derby County, but is not quite at the level of Depay and therefore misses out.
