Andy Murray – Boxing
Another big boxing fan is Andy Murray. Not only does he enjoy watching the sport, but he also incorporates it into his training. Murray has pointed out that agility, speed and co-ordination are crucial in both sports and so by using some boxing training techniques he is able to improve as a tennis player. Murray is known to be a big fan of Manny Pacquiao and got to meet his boxing idol back in 2014.
Rory McIlroy – Football
Rory McIlroy is well known for being a big Manchester United fan and recently stated he did not think Louis van Gaal was the right manager for the club. McIlroy enjoys playing as well as watching football, although this recently resulted in him picking up an injury and missing out on playing in The Open. McIlroy has said he will continue to play football in his spare time, stating it as one of his favourite past times.
Joe Hart – Cricket
Although Joe Hart is most comfortable between the goal posts, he recently enjoyed a net session with England wicket keeper Jos Buttler. Buttler stated he was impressed with Hart’s skills and Hart was quick to congratulate the England team when they won The Ashes. As a youngster Hart was involved with the Worcestershire academy and was a promising bowler until he chose football instead.
