• Former Dutch international Demy De Zeeuw is set to go on trial with Sheffield Wednesday with the hope of earning a contract. The Dutchman won 27 caps for his country. (HITC)
• Barnsley are interested in the signing of former Premier League striker Jon Stead after being released from Championship side Huddersfield Town in the summer (Football League World)
• Bristol City have had a bid rejected for highly rated central defender Harry Maguire by Hull City who don’t want to part with their former Sheffield United star (Hull Daily Mail)
• Wales international Hal Robson-Kanu is a shock target for League One side Wigan Athletic with Reading willing to let the winger leave the club (Football League World)
• Ainsley Maitland-Niles is set to join Championship side Ipswich Town on loan from Arsenal with the Gunners keen to get the youngster some 1st team experience.
• Mark Bunn is a target for newly promoted Bristol City who has been released from Norwich but face competition for his signature (Bristol Post)

• Southend United hope to wrap up a deal for former Leyton Orient striker David Mooney who was released by the O’s after their relegation (Football League World)
