As the English season reaches it’s climax, there are now just eight sides left in most prestigious cup competition in English football, the FA Cup. Beginning in August with over 700 clubs competing, the remaining clubs are 90 minutes away from a date at Wembley in April.
In the last round, National League side Lincoln City made history by beating Burnley 1-0 and becoming the first non-league side in this round since 1913.
The quarter-final draw gave four great ties from the winners of the last round. First off in the Saturday lunch time game, Middlesbrough will host Manchester City at the Riverside. Then Lincoln will travel to the Emirates to face Arsenal. before an all London match up between Tottenham and Millwall on the Sunday. Finally a mouth watering tie between Manchester United and Chelsea will be played on Monday. The new rule that the FA have implemented means that all matches will go to extra time and penalties if it is needed.
